Other Filter Media

Silcarbon also offers following products that are used in water filtration

• Quartz sand: filter sand
• Anthracite: filter coal type N
• Lignite: filter coal type H

Quartz sand and filter anthracite are used for mechanical water filtration, i.e. these filter media are used to remove suspended particles from the water effluent as e.g. particles in the overflow water from a thickener after a flocculation process

Filter coal H is used in swimming pool filters, in which it removes suspended solids from the water. Besides it has a weak dechlorination effect.

Quartz sand is supplied in standard sizes:

0,7 – 1,2 mm
1 – 2 mm
2 – 3,15 mm
3 – 5 mm

Other sizes are available upon request.

Filter anthracite N is supplied in standard sizes:

0,6 – 1,6 mm
1,4 – 2,5 mm
2 – 4 mm

Filter coal H is supplied in standard sizes:

0,5 – 1,6 mm
1,4 – 2,5 mm
