Impregnated Carbon

The main application field for impregnated activated carbon is air purification.

Waste air of many technical processes contains toxic materials, which cannot be completely removed by means of ordinary activated carbons. These toxic materials mostly are inorganic or high volatile, polar substances, which are very poisonous even at small concentration. In such case activated carbons, which are suited/impregnated for the relevant contaminant component, must be applied. By sometimes various intermediate chemical reactions between the contaminant component and the effective substance at the activated carbon, the contaminant can be removed from the waste air (chemisorption)

Only silver impreganted carbons are used in water treatment. The silver prevents contamination through
microbial growth on the carbon.
